Little Ethan?
As some ofyou know, Jonas has a real obsession for glasses. He is constantly finding and putting on our glasses and sunglasses (and getting them as smudged as possible in the process). Well, he found the perfect pair of glasses recently. Ethan's glasses from 8th grade (I think) with no lenses. We let him wear them to his heart's content and he looks so cute, who could resist? Do you think he looks like a little Ethan?
Now presenting Levi as...
a true "Soggy Bottom Boy"
He's a man of constant sorrow.
So the soggy bottom came from playing outside while I hosed some things down. He was a happy camper, giggling away as he caught the spray off, until we came inside. He loves to play outside and he loves to play in the water and he hates coming inside or getting out of the water. He's also pretty sad because he's getting 2 more teeth-numbers 7 & 8. Our little boy is growing up!
The things our 4 year old knows...
Bryant and Ethan were in the bathroom this morning while Ethan was getting ready for clinic, Bryant says (while looking up at Ethan's painting of a manta ray), "I'm scared of manta rays, are you?"
Ethan replied, "No."
"Why not?"
"Because they don't eat people." The wise father answers.
"What do they eat?" The inquisitive 4 year old asks.
"Bugs"
"What are the bugs called?"
"Plankton"
To his dad's utter astonishment Bryant says matter of factly, "That's what Basking Sharks eat. And they eat krill."
Just so you know, I, the mother, have never even heard of a Basking Shark until this morning. I had to look it up on Wikipedia (see link above) to know if it was real.

Hug Point
We found a new favorite beach (thanks to a recommendation from some friends) Hug Point! Saturday July 12, 2007 we headed out to the coast. We had so much fun! It was a perfect day with minimal wind, moderate temperatures, and not too much sun!
We had so much fun playing in the water, we never get that wet at the Oregon Coast! You'll notice that Bryant did get cold and wanted to buried to warm up-when he decided to get up, he quickly changed his mind and wanted to get back in. I couldn't help but think that must be what its like for a baby at birth :o)
There was lots of fun that we didn't get pictured, the beach had caves and rocks to climb and a little waterfall to play in, it was awesome and is officially our new favorite beach!

Choosing Our Battles
Sometimes its just not worth worrying about. Other times...
Levi is driving us crazy because he is constantly standing up in his high chair, during dinner we say "sit down Levi" more times than we even care to count, followed by sitting him down. I finally get so tired of it, that I get him down. What is a parent to do? Any words of wisdom out there?
While it would be nice if my kids were perfect and didn't give me extra laundry to do all the time, this one is just not worth worrying about. We got a big bucket of marionberries and I made some jam. I had so many berries left that I made Berry Crisp, ice cream, and sorbet (so Bryant wasn't left out with his milk allergy). YUMMY!!!! Jonas really got down and dirty with the sorbet. When I first walked into the room when he was eating it (Ethan was supervising), it looked like he'd been stabbed-I guess it was a hit!

Born on the 4th of July
Happy birthday to our awesome country and to our awesome baby boy!
We went to the Hillsboro parade in the morning, then spent a quiet afternoon at home (Bryant was sick, so we couldn't do a whole lot), then had a fun night of cake and ice cream and presents!
Levi was thrilled with his presents, especially the book and ball from Grandma Hoss. What a special treat to have her with us! Thanks Grandma!

Utah Grand Finale!
Another reason for our trip was to attend Little Ethan's baptism and here are some pics from the celebration. Congratulations Ethan!
Since we were there so close to Levi's birthday we decided it would be silly not to have a party, so here we have Levi's "pretend" birthday party, since the real one couldn't happen until we were with Dad back home on the 4th.

The Wild Berrys
A major reason for our trip to Utah was to spend some time with Ali and Josh and Conrad before their big move to Missouri. We'll miss each other in Utah by about 3 weeks, BUMMER! Well, as you can see, we had "heaps" of fun! (In the words of Sister Woodbury down under)
The big boys having fun with the little boys' toys!
OK, the little boys didn't get left out of all the fun...
Ari loves the babies, aren't they cute?
Jeni, shows she likes to live on the edge. Here she is blowing bubbles with Jonas.
He looks so proud of himself... "I get grown ups to pull the funniest faces!"
Dog pile on Uncle Eric!!! What a good sport he is. From bottom to top: Eric, Cade, Sophie, Ari (headturned), Bryant. Jonas tried to top it all off, but couldn't quite make it.
One of the only time Levi was friendly during our little party was when his Uncle Jason took him for a walk around the yard. I think he must not like a crowd.
We have a lot of fun times to look forward to!
