Utah: Day 9

Day 9, Saturday March 20: Prepare for picture overload (seriously...). Saturday was the day of the combined birthday party for Jonas and Bryant! We wanted to be able to invite everyone (and almost everyone was able to come! How awesome is that?!?!). I debated and debated about what to do and finally decided that it would be worth the money to rent out the bowling alley at our alma mater and have the party there... let me tell you it was 100% worth it!

Since I have a habit of trying to overdo things, I wanted to simplify, starting with the invitations... these got sent out to each of the families... simple, easy and still kinda cute.
I'm pretty sure everyone had a good time, but most importantly, the birthday boys had a blast!
Three of the four Woody girl cousins pretty close in age...(we missed you Amelia!)
Here's two more...
A rockin' crowd! I think that's the only pic I have of Nola the entire trip!
Looks like Spencer's been kissing the girls...
Jonas would bowl his turn and then run back to sit by Grandma and Grandpa. I thought it was SO cute!

The reason I'm "Kim-the-girl" and his cute baby boy Logan.
Some cute aunties...

Grandma spent her day chasing this wee lass around the alley. I think she enjoyed it just as much as she would have enjoyed bowling.
Grandpa, always studying something.
I love this picture! What a treasure Grandpa is! And that baby boy is just TOO cute!
Porter is quite the bowler.
Eden and Lincoln were almost always too fast for me to catch a pic, but I finally succeeded!

Uncle Rico rockin' it.
And WAHOO! Jeni made it (after spending a good chunk of time stuck at the post office!)
Ten frames was just about too much for Levi.
He wanted to explore the arcade.
The easy and fun theme cake.
Birthday spankings.
The haul... yep we pretty much needed a trailer to take it all back to TX with us.
Cute girls!
Silly boys!
Knuckles... or The Rock.... what do YOU call it?
I love this sweet moment. Those girls are growing up so much!
Isn't this a great pic of Sean and Skye? Love them!
Ethan got to spend some quality time chatting with his grandmas. They are the best!
Kari finally was decent for a picture, isn't baby Claire so cute?!?
I think the party was a success. I know it was fun for me (and so easy!)! We went back to Scott and Jane's that evening and Auntie Erin was totally cool and rented The Princess of the Frog for the kids to watch. She even bought frog theme treats to eat while they watched. It was so cute the way they all bundled together to watch it...
This was one of my favorite moments though. Look how cute Brielle and Jonas are snuggling like that. Jo is such a sweet boy and he has a special place in his heart for his cousin Brielle.
Whew! What a day! Good thing Day 10 is a day of rest!

Utah: Day 7-8

Day 7, Thursday, March 18: We spent the day with my parents just hanging out. Bryant talked Grandpa into playing wii Active with him. Don't tell my dad, but I think he had fun.
Doesn't Eliza look sad in this picture? This is her cousin Jack (Dave and Adrienne's youngest), he's two weeks younger than her.
Day 8, Friday March 19: We spent a good part of the day with my parents and then headed to the Woody's for the evening.
I think my kids' favorite thing about being on vacation in Utah is being able to get up in the morning and watch cartoons. Both grandparents have cable/satellite and my kids love to watch TV.
It was nice to just take it easy for a couple days. We sure love our families and consider ourselves to be extremely blessed!

Utah: Day 6

Day 6, Wednesday March 17: Jonas' Birthday!!! Its hard to believe that my 2nd born is FIVE!!! In a way, he seems like he's been 5 for a long time... but then again, its crazy that he's already 5 years old!

We spent the day with Richy (my bro) and Kari and their family. They even kept their kids home from school so they could play with their cousins! When we pulled into their driveway, Eliza tossed her cookies. She seemed OK for a while as they all played in the backyard, but when we headed out to the park she threw up again, so Ethan and I left the boys to play with their cousins and took her to grandma and grandpa's to clean her up and let her take a nap. It really dampened my spirits, I wanted to spend the day with my boy, but I knew he was having a great time, so that made it a little easier.

The cake I made got left up at Richy's house, so I didn't get to decorate it until they joined us at my mom and dad's, luckily Jonas chose a very easy cake for mom to decorate. He wanted strawberry cake and strawberry ice cream with a batman symbol on the cake.
We have a candle curse... it seems we can't ever find our candles when their birthdays come up. We had some up at Richy and Kari's but neglected to bring them with us, so Ethan improvised by lighting toothpicks on fire... I think they may have been out before he actually blew.
Everyone eagerly awaiting their birthday treats...
I think they liked it...

The big present! With a terrific wrapping job. :)
No, he didn't get a baby. He got a scooter (last year's got run over when he left it on the driveway).
Then Ethan and I took advantage of a fun opportunity his dad gave us to go to the Jazz game. We were on the 20th row!!! Needless to say, Ethan was stoked! I was less than thrilled to be leaving not only Jonas on his birthday but now Eliza who's been puking all day.
Enjoying the action.

I cheered up a bit by the end of the game. We had a great time! Thanks Scott and Jane!
