We enjoyed being a little lazy for one day while we were in Utah, the weather certainly didn't want us out and about, that was for sure! Abe enjoyed his new dinosaur from Grandma and Grandpa.
Monday night was Ethan's siblings party which is always one of our favorites! Its so nice to get together without having to worry about all the craziness of being parents. We laugh and laugh. This year Jeni and Jason hosted and it did not disappoint! We had a great dinner (so much delicious food!) and followed that with making cards for Ethan's cousin who is in the hospital recovering from some severe illnesses.
Then we play one of our favorite games Telestrations! If you've never played it, find someone who has it and invite yourself over, its so much fun! We ended the activities with playing the chimes. So much pressure! :) The night ended with our gift exchange. I was spoiled by Kim the boy with an awesome 3 year couple journal and a fun new game! Ethan's gift was the last of the night and it brought the house down. Thanks Erin for knowing your brother so well!!!
The kids had a sleepover at my parent's house that night so we could get up and go to the temple in the morning. We took some time to get our gifts wrapped while the kids were away first. Then we headed to the beautiful Ogden Temple.
After the temple we went to my parent's house and got the kids. We hung out for a bit, we had Chinese take-out for dinner and let the kids play the night away with their cousins. It was awesome.
When we came home that night Grandma Jane and Grandpa Woody were hard at work clearing the driveway, the kids were so excited to get out and help!!
Of course, it was still snowing while they were shoveling, so when we got up in the morning it was a beautiful winter wonderland outside. Perfect timing since we were going to the park to sled!
We met up with Kari and her kids, and Sean and Heather and their kids to have the most fantastic time sledding I can ever remember.
Abe didn't love it... see his hands weren't covered yet... that's the secret.
So we went to the park and sledded for a few hours.
Ethan brought his snowboard along just for kicks.
Abe was all too happy to stand at the top of the hill and play with the sleds. He didn't need to go down any hills.
Levi and Lincoln took a break from the speed and climbed on this giant snowball someone had made. Its nice to be in Utah and have someone for Levi to be chummy with. He is so difficult with his brothers sometimes.
Bolton loved, loved, loved sledding! He even found a group of teenagers who took him in and let him use their equipment. They thought he was just the cutest thing ever. Which, of course, he is.
Sean couldn't find his sled, so they brought their skis along. Once his kids were tired of skiing, they let us give it a shot. I went down a couple times and that was probably enough to last me another 30 years. I don't think skiing is for me. I'm too much of a wimp. But Jonas and Levi ate it up!
This was Jonas' first time down and it wasn't awesome, but when they let him go on his own he was a natural!
The snowboarder landing a sweet jump.
The snow was up to my knees!
See, what did I tell you about Jonas? A natural.
Ethan thought it would be fun to add some snow to the giant snowball. I don't think he made it very far.
Levi's first attempt down didn't go too well, either. And unfortunately I didn't get any good shots of his successful drives. But he was awesome and even when he wasn't he kept getting up and trying again. I was so proud of him.
And remember how my dog is like velcro? Yep. He had a good ol' time in the snow, once again.
